 National FFA History

Founded in 1928, the Future Farmers of America brought together students, teachers and agribusiness to solidify support for agricultural education. Since 1928, millions of agriculture students have become FFA members. FFA has opened its doors so all students could reap the benefits of agricultural education.

Today, the National FFA Organization remains committed to the individual student, providing a path to achievement in premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

Now, the organization is expanding the nation's view of "traditional" agriculture and finding new ways to infuse agriculture into the classroom.

 Forest Lake FFA History

The Forest Lake FFA was chartered in 1937 and the first president was Robert Duncan (pictured on right with Chelsey Tulgren 2003-2004 president). Females were not allowed to be members until 1969, so the first 30 years of members were all young men.

Currently we have about 115 members ranging in age from high school freshman to college seniors. Most FFA activities are focused towards the high school membership, however, there are awards and recognitions to be gained after graduation.

The Forest Lake chapter has helped many students expand their knowledge and passion for agriculture.
